Gallery - Arts Alive Performance
On Tuesday 16th May 2006, Whitchurch Whizzkids and Class 1 of Whitchurch Primary School got together
in the school hall for a performance by the Arts Alive Drama Company. The production was called
"A Story for All Seasons", and was put on by three very talented young ladies.
The children were drawn in by the Winter season with its rain and wind, great sound effects and props
gave the impression the children were really there. A duck then took them into Spring where they played
music on the bull rushes and ducks swan in the pond. The children were able to fly butterflies around the
hall making them land on the props. Then the sun came out and took them into Summer with the glistening blue
stream and the fish swimming by, children participating in making the fish dive and out of the stream to the
music. Then came Autumn. The squirrels were playing whilst collecting their nuts, hiding and searching, but
they were nowhere to be found. As they came back to Winter, snowballs were thrown as the squirrels got all
wrapped up and cosy to hibernate for the chilly winter months.
What a breathtaking activity the children were moved with the drama as they were taken through the amazing
journey of seasons. The girls who performed were very enthusiastic, and the children co-operated fantastically,
laughing as the duck quacked and wiggled his tail feathers. They enjoyed hiding nuts from the squirrels, and
the snowballs ended the story so well.
